Quartz is a partnership between St Johns Dumfries, and Wordsmith Crafts CIC (WSC). Wordsmith crafts is a community interest company. This means that it has been set up to serve a purpose other than simply to generate worth for it’s owners. Profits and assets it acquires are used for community interest.
WSC exists to help people enter into their heritage. Through hands on experiences and creative interactions.
This means that every year an annual report is written describing it’s activity and how it has fulfilled it’s purpose (along with accounts and details of taxes like any other company).
The report from the year 2024 has been written up and is available on the Wordsmith Crafts Website for those who would like a better understanding of how Quartz meshes in with the network of WSC community activity.

Cluaran is another WSC project. It provides access to general heritage. Quartz specialises in spiritual heritage.
