Sunday the 15th of February 2pm
We will gather as usual at 2pm outside the Crichton memorial chapel. Please dress for the weather as we will worship with the elements, and sometimes they can be wild!
We gather in the expectation of finding Jesus in the place where we gather. This is not a game of hide and seek! At least it would be surprising if we were to bump into him walking in the grounds like a gardener (although …)
Instead, like all the family who gather on Sundays, we have faith that God wants to build relationship with us. That God is present in creation. We choose to go out of doors, beyond the homes of our religious creativity to be present with God in the company of the trees, the birds, and the winds and rain.
We don’t meet in the wilds, or even a forest, but slightly out of our comfort zone we find opportunities to encounter the presence of God in new and sometimes surprising ways. We don’t forget our intellect or the inheritance of Scripture. So as well as learning to read the book of creation, we also read from the Bible. We pray and discuss what we have sensed with each other. Sometimes we sing, sometimes we listen to the birds singing.
It is definately more that simply a walk in the park!
Use the categories to look through previous posts to get an idea of what we have done on the past. We adapt each time we meet to the needs of those who gather, including the weather.
