The theme of the contemporary service on Sunday the 26th of October will be longing for home.
In Luke’s gospel, Jesus describes two people going to pray. One is comfortable in their position. They feel at home and are content.
The other is well aware of how much they feel like they don’t fit in. They are well aware of how the first person despises them and their lifestyle.
- Where are we in this story?
- What did Jesus have to say about the situation?
- How many people do you know who wouldn’t feel at home in Church, or tremble to cross the threshold?
But we will use this time to explore the feeling of longing for home. The certainty that we have that we have a home in heaven
– Our father has a house with many rooms!
So we can long for home with hope, every step of the path we walk to access that reality.
