#SensingSpirituality Forest Church

Sept 26 QFC walk

The road goes ever on

“Roads go ever ever on,
Over rock and under tree,
By caves where never sun has shone,
By streams that never find the sea;.

Bilbo Baggins, “The Hobbit”

This is the pre-amble to Septembers Quartz Forest Church. It is not a Tolkien themed walk. Nor is it a church service.

It is however an opportunity to walk together, practice #SensingSpirituality, and chat with each other about what we sense. If you want to use stories from the Hobbit or Lord of the Rings, or even the Silmarillion then great! Hopefully it will be more like a hobbit walk than attempting a simple stroll to Mordor.

For this reason we will take a gentle route from the town centre. This will lead us through Mountainhall Greenspace where we may stop for lunch, or if wind and rain suggest it then Castle Dykes park where there is better shelter for a picnic.

Pack like Sam Gamgee if you are able to carry it, or live on air and travel fast and light like Strider!

The walk will end up at the Crichton Chapel where everyone is invited to join for a Quartz Forest Church Service. At that time will meet in the peace of Jesus – all are welcome, whether they consider themselves a close friend, or are just a little curious. We make peace when we meet in peace. We usually end up at the central for refreshment.

There will also be people who simply meet us there at our usual time of 2pm.

To get in the mood here is another walking song!
