Forest Church is a broad term. This post has a selection of the sort of events which can group around the phrase. I’ve listed rough locations, but please get in touch if you need more details.
Silent prayer at Elshieshields
By kind permission of Ann, you are invited to Silent Prayer in May. It will be held in the barn at Elshieshields at the usual time 9:30am-10:30am, Saturday 2nd May.
The Rev John Stevenson will be giving us thoughts on a meditation topic, as by May, Ann will be residing at Senwick.
The urn will be on for tea and coffee, and the biscuit tin will be there.
The bluebells have just begun coming out, and shortly the woods will be a sea of blue; please feel free to stay on and enjoy the grounds after Silent Prayer.
Church without Walls – Wigtown
Nith Life
“If you want to understand salvation, first understand the nature of things”. This is not a direct quote, but is my reworking of the wisdom passed on by John Scotus from the 8th century. Here is an opportunity to participate in studying life in it’s fullness as it flows through the Nith.
NithLife are mobilising with The Rivers Trust to survey rivers in The Big River Watch. You can find out more about the survey here https://theriverstrust.org/take-action/the-big-river-watch (Perhaps they will make it available in Gaelic too next year). If you do take part, Nith Life (and Quartz) would love to know about it.
