Rushnyk

Your chance to see an internationally significant work of art – contributed to by people living in Dumfries.

The Rushnyk is installed now! The St Johns building is open for prayer and reflection during the day, everyday, so please call in if you are passing. Photos really do not convey the feeling you get if you walk to the front of the building and stand in the choir area to look at the whole work of art.

It really is an amazing thing that Tatyana has made possible for the Ukrainians at St Johns and also throughout the town.

Friday the 26th of June

12pm: Gather to pray for peace throughout the world at 12 noon

6pm: Gather for a reception to welcome the Rushnyk into St Johns

Monday the 29th of June

7.30pm: Quartz CLC will be meeting in the St Johns building. Join us to find out more about this work of art, and Rushnyk in general. (We will also be celebrating a special day).

All Weekend

We are hoping to have the over 160m long tapestry installed and ready to view by Thursday morning. St Johns is open for prayer and reflection during the daytime, so please drop in.

Take some time to and reflect on the journey of this community project across Europe.

Pray for a lasting peace and how it can be reached. For those displaced by war and suffering on both sides. Light a candle for hope.

The tapestry will be moving on to it’s next location on the 1st of July.

Looks amazing, unfortunately we are away that week. Would have loved to be a part of the celebration of Ukrainian culture.

The Rushnyk is in place now, so call in if you haven’t left yet! (25th of June). It will be in place until the end of June.
